This level 1 is designed especially for children at the beginning of CP. The words used in the story are exclusively constructed with simple syllables: ba, be, bi, bo, bu, de, sa, mi … and very easily decipherable for a child who is starting to read.
"I'm learning to read with Sami and Julie" is a collection of short stories specially designed for children learning to read. The text is written in large, the words are well separated from each other and the lines are well spaced. The stories are short, funny and very easy to read. Written with words in line with their progress, a reduced and adapted amount of text to read, so that the child remains motivated and gains confidence.
In addition to the short story, the book contains: advice to accompany the child in their first readings, the presentation of the characters, activities to prepare for reading, and at the end: "Did you understand the story?" to give meaning to what the child has read and go further than simple deciphering as well as a section "And you, what do you think?" with little questions to "make them think" or simply discuss the story.
