Poppy Torso is a variation of the robot Poppy Humanoid. It is an open source humanoid torso robot that can be easily installed on a table. Less expensive than the Poppy Humanoid, it is particularly suitable for use in educational, associative, and FabLab contexts.
Poppy Torso is an ideal tool for teaching digital sciences, engineering and mathematics. Like Poppy Humanoid, it is open source and fully 3D printable. Its motorization is based on the use of Dynamixel servomotors known for their robustness and rich features.
The Poppy Torso attaches with a suction cup and a lever arm to ensure its stability, which are also 3D printed.
The Poppy Torso can be programmed using visual programming systems like Snap!, a variation of Scratch.
Snap! makes event-based and concurrent programming accessible to beginners. It can also make it easy for artists to program interactive behaviors.
